Poet Moheb Soliman to discuss his new book 'HOMES' June 28 ‚Äčat Waterfront Park

A reading, discussion & celebration of Great Lakes literary, environmental & community intersections
The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) welcomes Poet Moheb Soliman to downtown Ludington's Waterfront Park, (391 S William St.) Monday evening, June 28 from 7-9 p.m.
Soliman comes to Ludington with his debut book HOMES, exploring themes of nature, modernity, identity, belonging, and sublimity through the Great Lakes region. Before sharing work from the book, he will be joined by co-hosts  Julia Chambers of Affew Friends of the Environment, and Nicole Birkett and Barry Matthews of Ludington Writers for a discussion of their overlapping perspectives and backgrounds regarding relationships to place, water and environment issues, and the Great Lakes region as a whole as well as Ludington's special corner of it.
This is a free event that is open to the public. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

Moheb Soliman is an interdisciplinary poet from Egypt and the Midwest who's presented work at diverse art and public spaces in the US and Canada with support from numerous foundations and institutions. His first book of poems, HOMES (Coffee House Press, 2021), is part contemporary nature poetry, part immigrant travelogue, immersed in the vast natural-cultural sprawl of the Great Lakes region.
