Ludington Area Center for the Arts receives

operational support grant from MACC

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) is excited to announce that it has been awarded an operational support grant from the Michigan Arts & Culture Council (MACC) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for $11,250 for the fiscal year of 2023.

Organizations receiving a grant from MACC and the NEA are required to match those funds with other public and private dollars. LACA receives significant funding and volunteer support from the local community.

“Support from MACC and NEA will allow LACA to continue to provide art experiences to the residents and visitors of Mason County and the surrounding area,” LACA Executive Director Andrew Skinner said. “From youth programming and art classes and workshops to performances, the Ludington Area Center for the Arts prides itself on bringing quality, cultural experiences to our rural area.”

The grant was awarded in October through MACC’s peer review process which allows for each grant application to be competitively considered by a panel of in-state and out-of-state arts and culture professionals. This ensures the taxpayers, who support this project through legislation appropriations, and all other visitors or residents in Michigan will have access to the highest quality arts and cultural experiences.

A complete list of grant awards around the state is available by visiting the MACC’s website at www.michigan.gov/arts.
