to host book launch gathering
for author Linda Sandow
The Ludington Writers will host a book signing for local author-artist Linda Sandow Friday, Jan. 17 at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) from 5:30-7 p.m. in the center’s performance hall gallery. Sandow’s historical novel ‘Jacob Castle and Gliding Swan: The Story of a Mennonite Man and a Shawnee Woman’ is based on her family’s genealogy and will be for sale for $10.
Sandow, writing the book over a three year period, researched her family’s history more deeply from genealogy notes. “My brother did the initial research and my sister did the manuscript formatting for me. It was a long distance, collaborative process. The Westside Writers Gang of LACA supported me along the way. Their encouragement kept me going,” Sandow commented. “Ultimately I imagined my great grandparents of the 1700’s and created a painting of Jacob and Gliding Swan which became the cover of the book.”
LACA is located at 107 S. Harrison St., Ludington, MI 49431. The Westside Writers Gang meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. upstairs in the Judith Minty Room.
