Larry Pazol's 'A Splash of Color to Brighten the Spirit' will be on display in the performance hall gallery of the Ludington Area Center for the Arts during the month of May.
'A Splash of Color to Brighten the Spirit' will be on display Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 7-28. A special public artist reception celebrating Pazol's work will take place Friday evening, May 7 from 5-8 p.m. This is a prefect chance to take in the exhibit and meet the artist.
Pazol, while establishing a law career, kept a workshop in his home to take care of household tasks. Approximately 35 years ago he visited a Charlevoix art exhibit that showcased mobiles. Upon returning home he decided that he would make three-dimensional art in his newly formed home “workshop/studio”. Over the years his art has been shown at churches, fairs and galleries. Some call his work brightly colored folk art.
This art is composed of cut out wood and/or metal, and then bright paint is added to finish the piece. This process results in a contemporary relief or free-standing sculpture.
