This exhibit is a play on the phrase “my eyes are up here,” displaying 15 unique women in vibrant colors from the shoulders up. Hill dedicates this exhibit to the powerful women who left a lasting impact on her. When drawing these pieces, Maggie asked some impactful women in her life to define “empowerment.” Their responses inspired the portrait’s titles.

“Maggie’s work studies the common visual aspects of female faces intending to find what unites us while also affording individuality to shine through,” Foley said.

A public artist reception celebrating Hill’s ‘Eyes on Me’ exhibit will take place Friday, May 5 from 5-8 p.m.

Additional exhibits on display at LACA during the month of May include ‘Art Snake Road Show’ feature artwork by 10 Manistee area artists in the center’s main gallery and ‘Feinberg & Kivela: Passion, Purpose and Paint’ by Ludington artists Rachel Feinberg and Anne Kivela in the center’s performance hall lobby gallery.

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is located at 107 S. Harrison St. in downtown Ludington. LACA exhibits are avaibale for viewing during normal business hours (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
