LACA to host Dances of Universal Peace March 31
The Ludington Area Center for the Arts invites area community members of all ages to come together in a joyful celebration of the unity of life and the 'Sacred Feminine' Friday evening, March 31 as members of the Dances of Universal Peace's (DUP) Sacred Earth Tribe host a dance in the art center's performance hall from 6-7:30 p.m.
DUP draw upon the sacred phrases, scriptures and poetry of the earth’s spiritual traditions. They blend live music and simple movements into living experiences of unity, peace and integration. These multicultural circle dances help build community and awareness of our connection to divine spirit through singing, chanting and movement. No experience necessary.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend and take part in the dances.
The Sacred Earth Tribe includes, Betty (Tasnim) Demers, Susanne Ashley, Marley (Kareem) Demers and Marty Jablonski of Benzonia, Mich. They are part of Dances of Universal Peace North America and perform at events around the country.
This is their first visit to Ludington. This event is FREE to attend and participate in, however donations are appreciated. The Sacred Earth Tribe charges nothing for sharing their dances.
The Dances of Universal Peace will take place during the closing reception of LACA’s first ever national juried exhibit ‘Celebrating the Sacred Feminine’ from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 31. The exhibit features nearly 60 pieces of art created by 48 artists from across the country and Canada using their visual voices to express the many facets of the Sacred Feminine in a variety of media.
