The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) invites visual artists of all ages to submit work for its June exhibit ‘Celebrating the S.S. Badger,’ an exhibit celebrating the 70 years of the Lake Michigan Car Ferry the S.S. Badger, taking place June 2-30, 2023 in the art center’s performance hall lobby gallery.

This exhibit is open to original artwork (no historical photographs or prints) of all types of medium. Jewelry, prints, textiles, sculptures, ceramics, mobiles, collage, mixed media, photography, pastels and paintings (acrylic, oil and watercolor) will be accepted. 2-D work should be ready to hang. No yarn, string or saw tooth hangers are allowed. Pedestals are available for 3-D pieces.
There is a $5 entry fee for each work with a limit of one entry per artist. This exhibit is open to both LACA members and non-members.
Artwork will be accepted during LACA’s normal business hours (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) starting May 11 through May 27.

A public artist reception celebrating the artists of ‘Celebrating the S.S. Badger’ will take place Friday, June 2 from 5-8 p.m. Join us for a chance to view the exhibit and meet many of the artists involved in the exhibit.
