'Art Snake Road Show'
on display throughout May 2023

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts’ (LACA) main gallery will feature ‘Art Snake Road Show’ May 5-26, 2023.

The ‘Art Snake Road Show’ exhibit features an array of Manistee County artists from the Onekama and Arcadia area and is a play on the group’s annual ‘Art Snake’ event that takes place each summer in which they invite the public to snake their way around Portage Lake to view artwork at various locations.

Exhibiting artists in the LACA exhibit include, Jamey Barnard, Susan Barnard, Jef Bourgeau, Mike Grant, Kristine Harvey, Andrew Jagniecki, Judy Jashinsky, Phil Joseph, Susan Joseph and Les Scruggs. The exhibit will feature a mix of mediums (paintings, drawings, textiles, sculptural work and printmaking) in a variety of styles.

A FREE public artist reception celebrating the exhibit and the artists involved will take place from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 5. Attending the artist reception is a wonderful opportunity for community members to take in the exhibit as well as a chance to interact with the artists.

Additional exhibits on display at LACA during the month of May include ‘Feinberg & Kivela: Passion, Purpose and Paint’ by Ludington artists Rachel Feinberg and Anne Kivela in the center’s performance hall lobby gallery and ‘Eyes on Me’ by Shelby artist Maggie Hill in the center’s Unframed Gallery.

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is located at 107 S. Harrison St. in downtown Ludington. LACA exhibits are avaibale for viewing during normal business hours (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
